Consumers buy more than 16 million cars and trucks in the U.S. every year. They buy them from more than 20,000 dealerships. Toyota Motor Corp. launched the Scion brand, aimed at the youth of the U.S. And it has attracted more buyers than just the young folks for whom it was created. Vehicles are designed and manufactured for specific demographics all the time. Manufacturers must understand that there are quite a few segments of people that might respond to specific models aimed at them.
