ABSTRACT
The article presents a letter sent by the American Wire Producers Association to oppose any actions by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding two separate proposed political actions being pursued in the U.S. steel industry as it struggles with a global imbalance of steel capacity. It mentions a wire rod case, and a Section 232 investigation that could result in restrictions of steel imports. The consequences which Section 232 restrictions on steel imports would have on industries are outlined.
