ABSTRACT
The article profiles guitarist John McLaughlin. The brilliant and innovative guitarist John Mclaughlin has always followed his heart. Beginning in England during the late 1960s, he was experimenting with blues and jazz/rock with performers Alexis Korner, Graham Bond, Ginger Baker, John Surman and others. Not long after that, he ventured to the U.S. and joined drummer Tony Williams' groundbreaking fusionband, "Lifetime." From there, he was recruited by the great performer Miles Davis to be part of his stellar experimental session bands.
