Reports on drug-resistance mutations which persist in untreated primary HIV infection. Gradual reversion of resistance results in the persistence of mixtures to wild-type and resistant variants in plasms HIV RNA; Clinical implication for the treatment of antiretroviral-naive patients; Highlights the risk of the subsequent transmission of drug resistant variants.
