ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Administrative Management (IAM), held on January 30, 2004. The convention was attended by some 30 corporate members, fellows and vice presidents of the Institute. Peter Fitzpatrick, the outgoing Chairman of IAM Council, chaired the meeting before handing over the chain of office to Ewen Mackie Finstam, who will be the chairman for the next two years. Bruce Hamilton took over the role of Honorary Treasurer, while Charles Wilson will chair the Education Committee and Mike Turner continues to lead the Quality Assurance and Assessment Board. The decision was also taken to reduce the number of people on Council in order to focus more closely on strategic and governance issues and improve decision-making processes. In addition to the office bearers, Jacqueline McLean, Patricia Wall and Moira Beswick were elected to serve on the new seven-person Council, which is also attended by the Chief Executive in an ex officio capacity.
