ABSTRACT
Akron-based manufacturer of polymer products for the agricultural, industrial, automotive, commercial and consumer markets Myers Industries Inc. will acquire Michigan Rubber Products Inc. and WEK Industries Inc. from Applied Tech Products (ATP) for about $60 million to expand its automotive rubber and plastics niche product presence. The deal calls for Myers to purchase the stock and assume the debt of the two firms, which make up ATP's automotive group. Myers is buying these companies because their products, processes and customers fit into Myers' existing capabilities, said Stephen E. Myers, chairman and CEO of Myers Industries Inc.
