ABSTRACT
The article present views of the author on whether the U.S. should adopt a more liberal immigration policy. Immigration can be regulated by legislation or diplomacy, or by both, but the immigrant cannot be standardized. He is a human being and must be treated as such. The problem today is not the number of people who are knocking at the gateway, but the kind of people who are knocking. To merely reduce the number is no cure for the ill. The need in immigration is to pick who they believe would be entitled to citizenship in this country.
