ABSTRACT
Contract or logistics services basically involves managing all or segments of the various functions that compromise a company's logistics system: transportation, inventory, materials handling, warehousing, customer service, order processing, or any activity that creates value. Since a paucity of reliable information exists regarding the size of the logistics service market, or the providers of these services for that matter, there is no question but that different marketing skills and techniques are required to successfully target and market contract logistics services. Not only are different marketing skills required, but different disciplines are needed that range from accounting to information systems. In short, marketing contract-logistics is considerably different from traditional freight marketing.
