ABSTRACT
The article argues in favour of lobbying in the U.S. Congress. Lobbyists representing genuine public interests ought to be encouraged. They provide a glimpse of the happenings in the legislative processes. Lobbying for private ends and by wrong, especially secret methods is harmful and does not augur well for the future of a country. It is the debauching of public opinion, dishonesty, secrecy in public affairs, private plunder at public expense that ought not to be tolerated at any costs. There should be a legislation to prosecute such offenders.
