ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the banking problem faced by the U.S. Congress in March 1933. The special emergency banking legislation was enacted by the U.S. Congress on March 9, 1933. The Congress is still waiting for information from U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt concerning banking legislation. Unconfirmed rumors are to the effect that the administration will ask for piecemeal revision of banking laws in preference to an attempt at general revision, in one single bill. Authoritative information on this point, however, is lacking.
