ABSTRACT
The article presents some essential points for running a family law practice. It asks to implement the most advanced communication technology one can find. Lawyers unlike more advanced technology users in other industries, often default to fax rather than e-mail as their primary communication tool. They are advised to use advanced e-mail product with a spam filter. The article suggests outsourcing of payroll and retirement plan administration. It asks to hire ADP or Paychex or another company to handle all aspects of payroll. All employees in the direct-deposit program can be employed and all tax deposits, reports can be handled by the payroll service. The other suggestions given include providing best health care to all employees, to buy a case management system and use it for all case management, calendaring and document assembly, to set up computer support using remote control technology, to conduct client surveys and to check computer backups frequently. The top thing for managing a family law practice is said to build a great Web site. This Web site can be used to let the world know that one is ready, willing and able to help.
