ABSTRACT
This article presents news related to motion pictures. New Line Cinema's "The Butterfly Effect" emerged from theaters with $17.1 million on its debut to glide into the top spot. The science fiction thriller, starring Ashton Kutcher and Amy Smart was in 2,605 theaters. After a solid start in the top spot a week earlier, Universal's "Along Came Polly" was bumped into the second spot with $16.4 million in hand. The film has picked up $53.3 million in 10 days. New Line's "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" — a multiple Golden Globe winner including for best drama — was in the fifth spot holding court with $6.8 million.
