The design Café: A new approach in the textile industry

The first European TUKAcenter was opened in August 2002, as part of the Design Cafe located at Enderby in Leicestershire. A company called the Guided Image, which is now part of the Compass Software Group owns the business. Guided Image was founded in 1992 by Emma Tilley and is a design-led retail orientated company. The core of the business is to provide products and services to communicate visual information across business. The Design Cafe is a members orientated organization and consists of a mix of freelance designers, small and medium manufacturers and in some cases large manufacturers dealing with special or peak demands. The actual services available at the cafe are discussed in this article.
