ABSTRACT
This article reports that the sixth annual conference of the Logistics Research Network will be hosted by the School of Management at the Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland on September 13-14, 2001. The event will be preceded by the annual doctoral workshop on September 12. The conference has become one of the main European forums for the presentation and discussion of research results in the areas of logistics and supply chain management. Around 80 papers will be presented, roughly half of which will report the results of logistics research undertaken outside of Great Britain. The papers will reflect the current scope of research and topics covered that will include supply chain benchmarking, electronic business logistics, freight villages, the logistics of home delivery, reverse logistics and supplier development initiatives.
