ABSTRACT
Managing everyday problems with sensitivity creates a trusting and secure relationship with babies. This is the first step toward helping a child learn how to handle conflicts. Young toddlers have passionate feelings. Anger is a useful emotion that can help toddlers stand up for themselves or persevere at a challenging task. Sometimes toddler squabbles will quickly blow over if adults don't intervene. When the emotion is too strong, toddlers need a calm adult to help them handle it.
