ABSTRACT
Four months after declaring an impending fiscal emergency, Eugene O' Neill Theater Center, based in Waterford, Connecticut, announced that it would return to a policy of open submissions for its annual Playwrights Conference. In a joint statement released on January 9, 2004 J Ranelli, the center's newly installed artistic director and Amy Sullivan, its executive director, explained the rationale behind the reversal. The center is accepting full-script submissions from January 12, 2004 through February 6, 2004 for the summer's conference.
