ABSTRACT
At the American Academy of Dermatology annual meeting in December 1982, physicians were surveyed as to their interest in using a computer in their practice. Of the 73 respondents, 64 have considered the use of a computer in their practice. Of the 64 physicians that have considered a computer for use in their practice, 12 already had a computer. A total of 38 of these physicians were in solo practice, and 54 treated more than 100 patients per week. Forty-eight of these physicians had one or more employees whose primary function was billing or insurance processing.
