ABSTRACT
This article focuses on issues pertaining to the successful management of change in business. Management of change depends on the successful leadership of the people affected by the change. That is the thinking behind the change framework adopted by the Post Office of Great Britain, and one that, so far, seems to be working. There are several key messages. If behavior is not changed, including the behavior of managers, then change has not happened. The change agent must be involved in change from its inception if they are to prevent barriers to change being erected. All managers must understand the dynamics of change, and be able to harness them for the benefit of the business. The change leader, not the project manager, must own and drive change, because the project manager will be gone before the benefits of the change are realized.
