This article reports that the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) of Great Britain has issued a revised version of its free leaflet 'Getting to Grips With Manual Handling.' The aim of the publication continues to be to provide free and simple advice to employers on the seriousness of manual handling risks to health and on how to tackle them. The publication complements the Back to Work initiative, funded by the HSE and the department of health to provide advice on good practice in managing and preventing back pain. The leaflet also supports Phase four of the health and Safety Commission's Good Health is Good Business campaign, which has placed special emphasis on manual handling issues. The guidance in the leaflet has been slightly revised to agree with changes made to more detailed guidance on compliance with the manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 and the statistical data have been updated.
