ABSTRACT
Books about politics were the top stories of 2003 in the nonfiction hardcover category, according to Book Publishing Report exclusive analysis of the New York Times bestseller lists. Conservatives and liberal thinkers were equally represented on the list throughout 2003. For instance, Michael Moore's Stupid White Men was No. 1 for three weeks, while Bill O'Reilly's Who's Looking Out for You also spent three weeks at the top. Two No. 1 sellers benefited from nationwide media blitzes. Rick Bragg's I Am A Soldier Too: The Jessica Lynch Story was at No. 1 for one week, along with A Royal Duty authored by Paul Burrell.
