ABSTRACT
The schemes funded by the government of Great Britain which students of the qualifications of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (ILT) are eligible to apply for were considered in this report. These are the Individual Learning Accounts (ILA) and Career Development Loans (CDL). Both schemes can cover all of the ILT qualification studies. The ILA is open to anyone over the age of 19 and can be used to help pay for other costs directly associated with the course. The institute courses are eligible for a 20 percent discount which applies to the first 550 pounds of the account holder's learning in any one account year giving a maximum discount of 100 pounds. The CDL is a deferred repayment bank loan, which is available for anyone over the age of 18 studying for any vocational course, be it full-time, part-time or distance learning.
