ABSTRACT
In the latest European research report titled CRM Benefits from the Peer-to-Peer Movement, analyst Kevin Lucas looks beyond the standard vision of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) associated with services such as the Napster. He examined the business benefits of adopting P2P technology, specifically in conjunction with the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications. The report concludes that while P2P will not revolutionize CRM in the same way as client/server or the Internet, it does offer demonstrable benefits to employees, partners and customers. Furthermore, although security fears will hit the headlines, effective preventative measures can be taken. The report focuses on four front-end P2P fundamentals. These are distributed people, distributed content, distributed processing, and combinations.
