The 2002 Logistics Directors' Forum, wherein delegates considered whether Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR) is the logical next stage beyond Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) Initiatives is reported. Alan G. Waller, set the scene by reviewing ECR developments during the 1990s, and welcomed two guests speakers to answer these questions. They are Martyn Harvey and Chris Tyas. Martyn Harvey outlined the view of his company, the Londis, of the CPFR. As a supplier to retailers, Nestle Rowntree's Chris Tyas described the CPFR process in terms of using collaboration with retailers and wholesalers to improve service and reduce costs throughout the supply chain.
