The worth and consequences of companies' stored knowledge and how one maximize the value of knowledge is the main focus of this article. An organization's data has value, but that value multiplies when it is converted from data into knowledge that people in the organization can get ar and act upon. The smart companies are therefore using business intelligence tools in an effective way to improve how their people work. Data warehouses, data mining, drill-down software and such have not been innovative information technology tools for many years now. More organizations than not must be using them to greater or lesser extent to manage and extract items from their databases. But there are new developments in business intelligence software that represent the next step up in knowledge acquisition.
