ABSTRACT
Views on issues concerning the parking control initiative of the government of Great Britain were the main focus of this article. The author believes that the initiative has always seemed to be an entirely misguided venture. It does not actually control parking. It makes motorists pay for the inconvenience it inflicts upon them without giving them anything in return. of course, the author believes, that it would be most helpful if this move were accompanied by the setting up of some serious Park-and-Ride facilities. All this requires is to pave a few fields on the outskirts and lay on loads of buses to shuttle between the parks and the city center. The author thinks that management will play a major role in this endeavor.
