ABSTRACT
The changes implemented on the decision-making process used by the Institute of Management Services are discussed. From 2001 the council would consist of ten elected members. Elected members would serve a four-year term in office. Elections would be held on a two-year cycle with 50 percent of council members standing for re-election every two years. The institute has changed the voting system from 'single transferable vote' to 'first past the post.' In order to introduce the agreed changes all the current members of the council will stand down in 2001 but will be eligible to stand for re-election, if nominated.
