The Nottingham University hosted a conference that discusses the potential for integrating cycling with various forms of public transport, with particular reference to trains, buses and light rail. It was aimed at public transport operators, authorities, consultants, cyclist and public transport user groups. Several issues were addressed during the conference, These are the market for combining cycling and public transport, the way in which operators, local authorities and users most effectively work together to exploit the market, the size of the potential for carrying bikes on trains, buses and trams, the practical constraints on doing this and the impact on system operation and other users.
