ABSTRACT
The Fjords Study Tour 2002 which was arranged by Andrew Dartnell from the Stoke and Stafford branch of the Institute of Logistics and Transport and took the participants to Norway, was highlighted in this report. The group went for a sightseeing tour of Oslo, Norway. The first real visit made by the group was to the airport at Gardermoen, where they were met by Bjorn Vinge, the airport's technical director. The group then went to the offices of the BAMA Group. The group travelled by local train to the suburb of Sandvika where they were met by Helge Virum of the Norwegian School of Management. Then the group went to the main station terminal of the Norwegian State Railways or the NSB. They boarded the NSB's newest tilting Signatur trains for the group's journey on the Bergesbanen from Oslo, across the roof of the world railway, to Bergen. In Bergen the group was the guests of the Bergen City Council at an address given by Tom Potter, chief engineer for the Bergen City Light Rail Project.
