ABSTRACT
The Queensland Transport and Queensland University of Technology's Center for Accident Research and Road Safety, Queensland, have hosted a fleet safety workshop, which was attended by over 40 managers from a range of government, industrial and other organizations in Australia. many issues were discussed during the workshop. These were discussed through several facts such as at least one in five crashes in Queensland involves work-related driving, the full costs of crashes are four to 20 times the obvious direct costs, driver training can help protect fleets from health and safety regulations and cut costs and some free resources are already on the University of Huddersfield Internet site. Overall, the evaluation of the day showed that most participants felt that it had been an important and useful event and would begin to focus more attention on managing the safety of their fleet vehicles.
