ABSTRACT
The presentation made by Gerry Brown, managing director of the Boalloy Industries, during Transport Association traffic managers' and engineers' meeting in Cheshire is the main focus of this article. He believes there are huge product liabilities caused by the lack of regulation surrounding the trailer and body manufacturing industry in Great Britain. He outlined the regulations that he would like to see made compulsary for commercial vehicle bodybuilders. They fall into the three key areas of type approval, obligatory strength rating for from bulkheads, rear doors, closures and side walls and compulsary anchorage points for key structural areas.
