ABSTRACT
The findings of the bus satisfaction survey which were published in the Bus Quality Indicators Bulletin in 2000 were presented. The average satisfaction rating for the bus journey just completed was 78 percent in England, 81 percent in England outside London and 73 percent in London. The highest satisfaction rating in both London and outside London was for on-bus safety and security and behavior of the bus crew. For England as a whole these two aspects of the bus journey had an average satisfaction rating of 86 percent. Satisfaction with information provided at the bus stop averaged 59 percent in England, 54 percent outside London compared with 71 percent in London. Satisfaction with bus service reliability averaged 64 percent in London, 62 percent outside London and 63 percent for England as a whole.
