ABSTRACT
This article highlights the spring meeting of the Logistics Directors' Forum which was held at the Rutherford Conference Center in 2000. The meeting revisited home shopping in the light of the electronic commerce revolution and looked at how the logistics profession is meeting the challenges of the new electronic world. Forum chairman Alan Waller gave an exclusive preview of the findings of a survey on home shopping and delivery, which was conducted in 1999. David Hindson took the floor to give a third-party contractor's view of the home shopping/electronic commerce experience. An insight into the life at the sharp end of the home shopping experience was revealed by Mark Powell. Forum members examined specific issues in their syndicate groups reporting back to the plenary session at the end of the morning session.
