ABSTRACT
This article reports on the contents of the Bus Quality Indicators Bulletin for Quarter one, 2001/2002. The average satisfaction rating for the bus journey just completed was 80 percent in England, 82 percent in the Shire areas, 83 percent in the Metropolitan areas and 75 percent in London. Highest satisfaction rating in London was for on-bus safety and security, with an average rating of 83 percent. Satisfaction with information at the bus stop averaged 60 percent for England compared with 72 percent in London. Satisfaction with bus service reliability averaged 65 percent in London, 64 percent for the Metropolitan and Shire areas, and 64 percent for England as a whole. The average age of the bus fleet was 8.5 years at the end of June 2001, continuing the downward trend since 1994.
