ABSTRACT
This article reports on the first meeting of the Branch Policy Toolkit Hot Team of the Institute of Logistics and Transport which took place in 2001. The aim is to develop a policy toolkit for institute branches which will aid them in local level policy response. It is likely that the toolkit will contain information such as basic background information to the organization of the institute, policy statements on a number of key themes so that branches know what has been said at national level, useful contracts both within the institute and on a wider scale and examples of past policy responses processes. The Policy Toolkit and the Skills Pool will be launched at the Branch Officers's Workshop on October 10, 2001.
