ABSTRACT
According to security specialist Evidian, deliberate damage by individuals within an organization is the biggest security risk to businesses in Great Britain, Deliberate external misuse, which includes hacking, is the cause of less than five percent damage recorded by enterprises. Accidental damage by outsiders also accounts for around five percent while accidental damage by employees makes around 20 percent. Nevertheless, companies continue to spend most of their security budgets addressing the issue of the external threat. The new findings from the company result from a risk hierarchy the company has devised, which is based on audits conducted in 60 organizations in the financial, retail, logistics and public sectors. The listing takes into account the various parts of an infrastructure that are most often breached, and looks at the source of the attack.
