ABSTRACT
The unique structure of spiral oil wedge sleeve bearing causes that the lubricant flows into the bearing through inlet hole and most oil flows out of the bearing through the oil return hole of bearing. Using the flow characteristic of spiral oil wedge sleeve bearing, the wall slip is studied experimentally by method of target speed tracking method, the fluid flow of lubricant is taken using high speed camera, and average flow speed from inlet hole to oil return hole is computed. Axial and circumferential wall slip is proved by the difference of experimental results and theoretical results. Experiment shows that slip velocity increases with the increase of input pressure. The critical shear stress of sleeve surface is obtained for low viscosity lubricant.
