ABSTRACT
January 2004 is the 25th anniversary of the "Journal of Financing Planning." Volume One, Number One, was published in the fall of 1979, then the "Journal of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners." Initially, there were small changes. The cover changed to tan in 1982. In July 1988, after a significant overhaul, readers saw a new name, a new look and additional content. The title, "Journal of Financial Planning," graced a larger, illustrated metallic cover. With February 1996 came the next revision. Staff held true to the journal's original mission, but kept alert to the needs and growing complexities of a maturing profession. The Financial Planning Association was born in 2000.
