ABSTRACT
The article cites a study conducted by researchers in Italy, published in the February, 2002 issue the "British Journal of Urology International," on efficacy of modified antegrade scrotal sclerotherapy for varicoce. According to researchers antegrade scrotal sclerotherapy is a simple, minimally invasive and highly effective technique for blocking spermatic vein reflux with a low rate of complications. The technical changes simplified the cannulation of the spermatic vein and facilitated antegrade phlebography and sclerotherapy using the air-block technique.

OBJECTIVES. Our aim was to discover whether it is possible to eliminate retrograde phlebography in the treatment of varicocele by using Tauber procedure. METHODS. We treated 102 consecutive left varicocele patients between November 2003 and May 2007. In 72 patients (Group A) we used the Tauber...

We evaluated by angiodynography 228 patients with clinical and 107 with subclinical varicocele and 22 normal subjects studying vein dilatation and reflux peak flow velocity (PFV). PFV was 18 cm/sec in subclinical varicocele, significantly lower than in clinical varicocele (24 cm/sec). The mean...

Background: Varicocele is the most common cause of male infertility. The etiology and pathophysiology of varicocele are multifactorial. When low sperm counts are associated with varicocele, varicocelectomy can partially restore spermatogenesis and fertility. Few recent studies have...

Percutaneous coil embolization of the spermatic vein offers a minimally invasive method for treating symptomatic varicose veins of the scrotum. We describe the case of a 63-year-old man with multiple comorbidities and persistent bleeding from scrotal varicosities. Venography revealed significant...
