This article comments on how savings and efficiency make electronic procurement a compelling idea. According to internet research firm Aberdeen Group Inc., if a company spends approximately $50 million on indirect expenses then automating procurement could achieve nearly $2 million in annual savings from lower prices paid for goods and services. However, Forrester Research claims that less than 10% of corporations are using automated expense reports and only 8% of indirect materials were purchased over the Internet.
