ABSTRACT
The article discusses changes to risk management resulting from global competition and electronic commerce. A risk management tool has been developed by Ernst & Young LLP and J. P. Morgan Chase & Co. called Horizon. The software is Web-based and is designed to offer more effective views of potential operational risks through automated controls and procedures monitored from a single location. NetRisk's RiskOps 2.1 offers similar management options with an adaptable database set up to accommodate the needs of corporate finance departments as well as financial institutions.
