ABSTRACT
The article reports on managing shareholder value. Chief financial officers and members of the New York Society of Security Analysts conducted research to determine the drive behind shareholder value. The survey results show that the stock price of a company is driven by investor confidence. Results also demonstrated an emphasis on the importance of planning and effective budgeting. Managers creating a plan should include performance management, financial reporting, as well as rewards. There was also a link found between business planning and shareholder value.
