The article discusses the development of project management office (PMO) product for enhancing corporate performance. PMOs can provide portfolio management with project initiation and project management methodology for controlling the portfolio of projects. Effective management of projects depends upon the categorizing applications or business functions in order to analyze and initiate the correct projects for improvement. Appropriately aligned PMOs improve the strategic business plans and information technology plans into projects with business drivers, approved technologies and financial objectives. Implementation of a PMO is done best by running it as a project with a dedicated manager that can create a project plan supportive of PMO requirements and strategy.
