ABSTRACT
The article reports on workplace safety and the Liberty Mutual Work place Safety Index developed by Liberty Mutual Group (LMG). LMG is an insurer which provides workers compensation insurance products and services. In the Index it identifies the leading reasons for jobsite accidents and illness as well as the associated cost through use of its own claims data and findings from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the National Academy of Social Insurance. A link between workplace safety and a company's performance is clearly demonstrated.
