ABSTRACT
The article reports statistics from a study by Hackett Benchmarking & Research concerning the outlook for electronic commerce or e-business and the potential of e-business applications. Ninety-three percent of the respondents indicated that their business strategies will change. About 70 percent think that their electronic business investments will increase significantly in two years. A majority believe that the boundaries between internal functions and supply chains will lessen. Companies expect the shift to electronic billing methods will include electronic data interchange. The Web's role in remittance processing is mentioned.
