The article reports on electronic communication used in the buying and selling of stocks which is also known as day trading. This is where online exchanges are created with trading taking place at a much faster pace than traditional exchanges like the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. Both exchanges have begun discussing a change in their ownership so that they can compete with the competitive environment the Internet has brought. Electronic communications networks are not only faster but they are more cost effective.
