The article states that the annual losses to businesses due to the overpayment of vendors and errors in processing accounts payable might be as much as $10 billion. PRS International Inc.'s vice president of operations, Ed Ritter, says that an audit of engineering and construction firms found overpayments in 10 categories including the federal excise tax, cash discounts, and vendor credits.
