ABSTRACT
The article examines the performance of the airline industry worldwide in the second quarter of 2016. Also cited are the increase in operating profits posted by majority of carriers in the Asia-Pacific and Latin American regions, the adverse effects of tough competition on revenues, and the performance of such airlines as Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines (SAL), and China Southern Airlines.
