ABSTRACT
The article discusses the outbreak of a severe infection caused by Pseudomonas pituda, a ro-shaped bacterium found in natural resources in hybrid catfish silurus asotus and silurus meridionalis. Topics include the meat quality of the catfish species which became the important foodfish in China, the signs of the disease from affected ponds for isolation of bacteria and the characteristics of Pseudomonas putida.
