ABSTRACT
The article reports various developments related to the motion picture industry. Filmmaker Ryan Coogler has yet to send in his acceptance letter of the invitation sent by the Academy join the Oscars-granting organization. The Star Trek: Discovery television series for CBS All Access will feature a gay character. Actress Shannon Purser went to Los Angeles, California, for a week of meetings with top casting directors and executives at ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, Sony, Warner Bros. and others.
