ABSTRACT
Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of gray scale ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound in papillary thyroid carcinoma. Methods: 90 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma in our hospital admission for treatment were selected from September 2013 to September 2014. All the patients were examined and diagnosed using gray scale ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound, and the diagnostic accurate rate of two ultrasound diagnostic methods and the accuracy rate to diagnose the lymph node metastasis were compared, and the image of two diagnostic methods was analyzed. Results: 82 cases were diagnosed by the gray scale ultrasound, and the diagnostic rate was 91.1 %, while 85 cases were diagnosed by the Doppler ultrasound, and its diagnostic rate was 94.4 %, so the diagnostic accuracy of Doppler ultrasound was higher than that of the gray scale ultrasound, but no significant difference(P>0.05). 38 patients were found lymph node metastasis by the gray scale ultrasound, the diagnostic rate was 61.3 %, while 58 patients were found lymph node metastasis by the Doppler ultrasound, and the diagnostic rate was 93.5%, which was significantly higher than that of the gray scale ultrasound with significantly statistical difference(P<0.05). Conclusions: The gray scale ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound have good accurate rate for diagnosis ofpapillary thyroid carcinoma, but the Doppler ultrasound is superior to gray scale ultrasound in the diagnosis of lymph node metastasis with more accurate blood flow signal in nodules, its good accurate rate is 94.4%(P>0.05), so the diagnostic accuracy of lymph node metastases can be improved by detection of thickened or increased blood vessels signal in lymphatic nodules.
